UNL Surplus Solutions

University of Nebraska Surplus Solutions, or UNL Surplus Solutions, was started in 2001 under the name UNL Surplus Online Sales. The program began as a way to provide goods no longer useful to the university to the general public. Rather than gather dust in warehouses, valuable equipment can be useful again to public buyers. This helps university departments recover significant revenue.

In 2009, UNL Surplus began a transition to UNL SIFE Sales. Students in Free Enterprise (now known as Enactus) is a student organization that applies students’ classroom experiences to develop and implement educational outreach programs that teach individuals in their communities the principles of market economics, entrepreneurship, personal financial success skills, environmental sustainability and business ethics.

Today, SIFE Sales exists as UNL Surplus Solutions. The new name clearly states our company’s purpose. Despite the name change, UNL Surplus Solutions still supports UNL’s Enactus chapter. All profits from UNL Surplus Solutions directly fund Enactus community projects.
